The congregation needs to provide 2-3 volunteers (in addition to Mike Jenkins and Joe Brackett who are regulars) each time the Food Pantry is open.

The Madison County Food Pantry is asking for donations of canned soup, crackers (saltines, Ritz, e.g.) and bagged/boxed breakfast cereal.  We have donation bins here at the church.

On Sunday, May 10, we will celebrate the women of our church during our 10am worship service.

Before and after the service, everyone is welcome to go to the Fellowship Hall for a complimentary photo session with Tony and Kim Reeder.

Photos are a record of how we have changed from year to year!  One person or a large family—all are welcome.

On Sunday, May 17 you can pick up your complimentary photo in the Rudorah Welcome Parlor.

Here is a look at our 2026 Vacation Bible School theme - VBS will be July 19th-23rd with registration starting at 5pm, dinner at 5:30pm and programming from 6pm - 8pm.  Registration will start around May and it's 100% FREE!

Disciple Fast Track is a streamlined Bible study designed for busy people. The program includes two 12-week sessions—one covering the Old Testament and the other the New Testament. LifeCare Alliance Meals-on-Wheels is seeking drivers to deliver meals in London, West Jefferson and/or Mt. Sterling. They are also seeking clients who may be in need of these services.  Drivers are committed to keeping an eye out for the safety of clients. Meals-on-Wheels clients are even eligible for our senior pet care services, providing food and veterinary care for pets. A free box fan is available each summer to help clients “beat the heat.”  Clients receive a holiday gift for Christmas and special holiday meals throughout the year.  If interested, contact Steve Craig, 740-506-1002, or Lifecarealliance.org

On the 2nd Saturday of each month from 1-3pm the Sisters In The Lord (a gathering of Christian women of all denominations) meets at different locations in London. Locations will be announced when the schedule is set. Lunch is provided, fun door prizes, and a speaker, but most important is Praise and Worship of our Lord and King.
Also, The first Saturday of each month, everyone is encouraged to meet at the flagpole at the Madison County Courthouse at noon to PRAY for our Community.

Sisters in the Lord is a spirit filled, monthly Christian women's ministry called to encourage, inspire, support and equip women of all denominations to live in God's purpose.

We envision our ministry to provide meaningful resources and opportunities for discipleship.  The women of Sisters in the Lord will impact others in our community by cultivating relationships and sharing the love of God through our monthly followships (which include times of devotion, worship, opportunities, testimonials, intercessory prayer, Bible study, and retreats).  The Sisters in the Lord will endeavor to build a strong unified group of Christian women who walk in their respective spiritual callings, lighting the pathway to salvation, and giving God all the glory.

Sisters in the Lord began on October 16, 2015, on the Dyson Farm.  God had been giving a few Sisters in the Lords a vison to gather & celebrate the blessings of the Lord!  Sister Susan Dyson, Sister Kim Edley and Sister Kathy Jenkins shared these visions.  Sister Susan Dyson said she had always wanted her place to be a place where Sisters could come and just be blessed; sort of a Blessed Assurance.  A few days later after having that conversation, Sister Kim Edley was blessed to attend a retreat hosted by the Sisters of Leave A Mark Church (LAMC).  The Sisters of LAMC church had decorated each table beautifully and used as center pieces old hymnal sheet music.  The table that Sister Kim Edley sat down at was a GODFIRMATION!  BLESSED ASSURANCE!  Sister Kim Edley returned from the retreat fueled and more fired up & immediately spoke to Sisters Susan Dyson & Kathy Jenkins because she felt is was GOD confirming their visions.  They began planning a "FUEL FOR THE FIRE, SISTER SPIRITUAL BONFIRE" to be held at the Dyson Farm.  Sister Susan Dyson welcomed the kick-off but the day of the planned gathering, the winds began to whip around putting hesitation on holding a bonfire with the open fields and farmland; BUT GOD!  Sisters Kathy & Kim had been reaching out to several Sisters in the Lord and letting them know we were going to have an awesome Spiritual Sister Bonfire to fuel the fire of the Lord and it was going to be a great time of Sistership.  On Friday, October 16, 2015, Sisters in the Lord Kicked-off a Blessed Assurance good time in the Lord at Sister Dyson's farm.  The firepit had been prepared and just when everyone began arriving the winds died down & a stillness came over the farm & we were able to light the fire & sit around the bonfire & share the blessings as more sisters arrived.  Sister Kathy and Sister Kim both shared a few words and then each Sister present shared their favorite scripture or inspirations as the lantern was set from chair to chair.  We were having such a good time that we didn't remember to take a group picture with all the Sisters there before some of them left, but Sister Willie Russell made sure to get a picture of the Sisters that were still there before she left; and so we were able to capture some of the blessings in photos but more importantly, we were blessed with memories in or hearts & fuel for the fire that has continued to grow and glow for the Lord with each Sister in the Lord gathering.  The Sisters present included Sisters Willie Russell, Kathy Jenkins, Kim & Alyssa Edley, Susan Dyson, Joanie Hay, Marilyn Hall, Angie Artis, Jamie Wilson, Pauletta Brown, Kim Martinez, Elizabeth, Lee Ellen Wilson, Sister Willie's god-daughter, and Sister Marilyn Hall's Kairos Sister in the Lord.

Have you ever wondered how the beautiful flowers appear on our altar every Sunday? London First UMC has a long tradition of having fresh live flowers placed on the altar for worship. Fresh flowers are symbols of the resurrection and new life promised through Jesus Christ and they add much to a meaningful worship experience. Please consider taking part in worship preparation by sponsoring the flowers.

Altar flowers are used throughout the year to enhance the worship experience in the church Sanctuary. Individuals or families may sign up for any given week to provide altar flowers. These flowers are donated by congregation members. They are a wonderful way to honor a special occasion (birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, baptisms, holidays, etc.) or remember loved ones and friends who have passed away.

Please check with Gail Baker in the church office to reserve a date to provide the altar flowers. You are responsible for ordering the flowers from London Florist, or you may pick flowers up and bring them to the church on Sunday morning by 9:30am.

All men of all ages, come and join our Saturday morning men’s Bible study and fellowship. We meet in the Rudorah Welcome Center every other Saturday at 8:00am. We are presently studying the Epistles (letters) of Paul and other texts between Acts and Revelations. Learn about the early trials and problems faced by the early churches during their formation.

The study lasts approximately one hour. Come and enjoy a muffin and coffee as we informally study and discuss Books of the Bible. We have very open discussions of how Jesus wants as Christians, to live our lives. Please come and join the fellowship.

On Sunday mornings a volunteer is needed to be in the room with our nursery attendant to be in compliance with our Safe Sanctuary policy. You can volunteer for one or more Sundays a month. Please let Pastor Dave know if you are willing to volunteer.

We are seeking volunteers to provide hospitality in the Rudorah Welcome Parlor. Sharon Brackett makes the coffee. What we need is someone to provide food (donuts, cookies, or other goodies that go well with coffee. If you can’t do the whole month but can volunteer for a specific Sunday, we can work around that. First Presbyterian Church, has a new ministry we want to share with you.  Carolyn Garver has created this ministry to loan health equipment to those who need it.  This is a much needed ministry in our community, and we salute her!  Don’t hesitate to share this information if you know someone it can help.
