Why are we updating our website?
 The cost to host our website, mobile app, online giving and live streaming from our current provider is just short of $4,900 per year.  About two years ago the software company we use to manage our church’s membership database and giving records introduced a hosting platform with most of the same features we have now for an annual cost of $2,750 per year.  Switching to the new platform will save the church over $2,000 annually and it will fully integrate the online giving with the system currently being used to manage giving records.

What will change?
August 3rd is the target date to switch over to the new system.  The new website will go live at that time.  The website will have a new look and feel, but the majority of the content has been carried over from our current website. 
If you watch services online, we will still stream to the website, Facebook and YouTube, but the ROKU app will no longer be available.  Those that use the ROKU app should switch to using the YouTube app on their smart TV’s and subscribe to the church’s YouTube channel to watch services online.  There is no cost to subscribe, but it will make finding the services easier.
If you have installed the church’s mobile app on your phone you will need to un-install that app and download the new mobile app from either the Apple Store, or the Google Play Store once the new website is live.
If you have a recurring gift set up currently, you will be given directions in July on how to cancel your recurring gift in the current system.  During the transition please continue giving either in person, or by doing one-time gifts online.  Once the new site is online, you will be able to set up a new account and resume your recurring giving under the new system.

What do we need you to do now?
Since this system is tied so closely to our membership database, it is critical that we have up to date contact information.  Setting up an online giving account will ask for the e-mail address that we have on file since that is how the giving is tied to the membership database.  There is also a text messaging option on the new website.  In order for the church to make use of this feature, we need to have the correct cell phone number on file.  So, please contact Gail (gail@londonfumc.org, 740-852-0462) and give her the cell phone number(s) and e-mail address(es) that you want us to have on file.
