Capital Campaign FAQ

Both the buildings stained glass windows and exterior masonry will undergo extensive repair and rehabilitation.  All stained glass windows IN THE ENTIRE ORIGINAL BUILDING will be re-leaded and cleaned as necessary, and then weatherproofed with storm coverings; the masonry will be repaired as necessary, repointed, cleaned, and sealed.

HOW MUCH WILL THE PROJECT COST?
$990,000, which includes windows and the outside masonry.

WHAT IF WE DON'T RAISE THAT AMOUNT?
The Trustees and Council will decide how to proceed based on what we raise.  The windows are a la carte, so that gives latitude.

WILL ANY GENERAL FUND MONIES BE USED FOR THE PROJECT?
No, only money raised and collected through the capital campaign will be used for this project.

WHO IS DOING THE WORK?
Lee Restoration is doing the masonry/stones, Window Creations is doing the stained glass.

I THOUGHT THE WINDOWS WERE DONE IN THE LAST CAMPAIGN?
Only the bottom half of the sanctuary windows were done.  This project does the top half of those windows, the skylight window directly above the sanctuary, and all of the windows in the old building.

WAS THIS PROJECT BID OUT?
Yes, Lee Restoration and Quality Masonry bid on the outside work. Lee Restoration was $400,000 less than Quality Masonry.  Franklin Art Glass and Window Creations looked at our stained glass.  The bid from Window Creations was accepted.

WILL TRUSTEE FUNDS BE USED FOR THIS PROJECT?
No.  Trustee funds, such as those raised by the baked steak dinner, are for general building maintenance, such as air conditioners, minor repairs etc...

WHEN WILL THE WORK START?
Some work might begin in the Fall of this year, most of the work will be done in 2023.
